Bought 18" Firestone tires from Coker .I can not get the raised edge close to rim to be even all the way around the rim.I thnk the raised bead maybe a locator. It is wider on one side than the other. Making it look like tire id not centered on the rim ?

As Steve said; use RU-GLYDE. Here in Florida, Boling hot sun is not a problem so tires are pliable, but using RU-GLYDE makes application much easier. Also, it will not attack rubber, or paint and that is serious problem with many slimey, gooey concoctions people are tempted to use. The tighter a tire fits on a rim is like a belt on baggy pants.Eric Smith

As here in the Midwest, we often had to put them in the front seats of our autos and shut the windows.
Attacking rubber, paint, or just causing corrosion is a serious concern,.. unless you are on the side of the road.
Then beer works. In moderation as always.
