This may have been covered before. What is the best paint for Linkert Carbs?
    Thanks, Craig

This is the most fuel resistant coating I have found, Craig,

They make silver as well, not sure about O.D.,

      Craig,
My M74B was polished back in the early '80's. Carb body and float bowl. It's a little tarnished, but would probably shine right up. It's going back on the '60 Pan one way or the other but Palmer says it should be black. Not sure what I'm gonna do with it. Thanks for the info Tom BTW..

        When I was active, Saddletramp,

The standard procedure to recover a polished carb was first to add character with abuse,

        UNPOLISH.jpg

then shot-peening, then ALOX blasting, before beading and Nylox wheelbrushing.

        Then prep for enameling.

PS: Polished bowls usually started with the shotpeening step, and finished with machining the gasket surfaces of course.
The end result is the same as hammermark removal:

Good info Cotten, May end up being the route I go, or similar eventually. Thanks.

I believe I already mentioned elsewhere, Eric,

The judging system made me money!

My apologies, Tom. Shouldn't have posted it, and too late to delete.

                    No offense taken, Eric!

                    Preserving History needs more discussion.

How many judges could spot me faking it?

'Bout the only thing I never faked was numbers.
