  • 47 FL Springer?

Just getting around to putting together this springer that I got with a basket case some 40 odd years ago, and wondering what I have here. It's an offset but I had to drill out front and rear to fit big twin rocker studs. I put in a v-twin timkin bearing kit, 24-

Sorry, guess I fat fingered it before it was finished. 24-0230 and I've got about 1/2 in. down to the stem top. With the tree and top nut I need another 1/2 leaving me about an inch short! The neck with cups is 7 in. and the stem 7 3/4 without the bottom cone washer. I know the timkins stack up higher than the ball bearings, but not an inch. Is there a way around this?
    Thanks,

Can you show a picture of the main brace of the rigid leg looking up from the bottom. The 13 front spring fork is not for an offset. An off set would have a milled 15, milled 16 or 17, 18. Needing to drill out the rocker hole holes suggests to me that it is originally a WL front end.

Your lower bearing needs to NOT be on top of the centering cone that needs to be removed before you start.. And most of the issue is poorly made aftermarket junk.

Here are a couple more shots, looks like the bottom has been smoothed.

So, I need an offset spring fork and a new stem to make this work?
