  • Spotlight Switch

I have a 41 ULH with the correct spotlights and Hollywood bars. The right side of the bars are drilled for a headlight hi beam switch. I was told that’s for the spotlights and want to verify this. I didn’t think a switch would be standard because of the toggle switches incorporated into the spotlights. Thanks in advance.

Police bikes set up at the factory had holes for pursuit light switches and speedo hand lock switch if ordered with them.

Would they’ve been the same as a high beam dimmer switch and on the right side near the throttle?

Yes, same switch but only wired with two wires so only hot to one side. Just works like a toggle switch, off or on.

Both my 47EL and 48EL have the high beam switch let side and spot light switch right side. Both also have the toggles on the light itself.

Harley made a 2 wire switch for turn signals but they tend to be scarce. I’m sure I can convert a 3 wire switch. Thanks

Super easy to make, just unsolder one of the side wires. Then one side is off, the other on.

Yeah I did that last night. Once I opened it I knew exactly what to do. I soldered two long lengths of cloth wire on because as usual someone cut all but an inch of the wires off. Thanks.

I installed the switch over the existing holes (was drilled for a button, maybe a kill switch). The existing holes were at about 10 o’clock on the right side of the bars looking from the right side inward. Is this the correct location or would the switch been mounted underneath similar to the high beam dimmer? Either way I had to cover the existing holes and didn’t really have a choice. Thanks for the input.

If it was drilled for a button it was likely police bars set up for a Speedometer hand lock. Pursuit light switches were mounted underneath the bar.

I see the pursuit light wires are external. Would the civilian spotlight wires be internally or externally ran?
