  • Black cloth tape

    any body know were to get the right tape . I have ordered a couple of rolls from different paces and they are not even close

    Have you just bought plain old friction tape from the hardware store?

        How wide was the tape .Thanks for the response. I bought the tape of off the internet . It is cloth but it is real thin and not very stickey

          The modern hardware store stuff doesn't stick like the older stuff did.

              It says 3/4" on the can, Dan!

              I'd be surprised if my Manson still sticks; Just a vanity shelf item.

              Found decent generic friction tape at a big-box store a few years ago, but I'm about out...

                  Cotton, I too have a container like yours of Manson tape.

                  Now days all I use is Coroplast abrasion and heat resistant tape. It's OEM on many harnesses. Tough stuff, you won't tear it like other tapes, it must be cut.

                      I bought a roll at Home Depot. I believe it is made by 3M. Works great.

                        Shop Dope Nov.16,1937 # 9 . Tape and shellac entire length of gas and oil pipes. This is what I do for wiring using the old tape that won’t stick, also can soak cloth strips in shellac to make your own covering , period correct? not my call.
