    What are the markings on the big twin knucklehead frames for 40, 41, 42,43, 44, 45, 46, 47 where are the markings located?

        where are the markings located?
        The markings are on all major castings, so steering head, sidecar loops, rear motor mount/seat post, right and left rear axle plates, etc. Some are just a series of numbers and letters, some have a makers hallmark as part of the markings. As stated the information is listed in Palmer's book (with some new info being found since publication of the 2nd edition more will be in the new 3rd edition). Without Bruce's permission I am not posting those pages. If you don't have one perhaps someone you know does as it is currently out of print.

            Prior to October 1944 every joint on the frame was brazed. After that most joints, except the neck, were welded.
