Certainly not in the working man's price range. Prices like this have done a lot more harm than good for this hobby.

One thing about being a member of AMCA (in my opinion) is that if you commit to joining AMCA, then it can mean you care about the preservation of vintage motorcycles. When I see something like this Knucklehead for sale on Ebay for huge dollars I immediately think it's not an AMCA member selling it (maybe it's a surviving spouse or relative selling it?). Back in 1970-something when I visited my grandmother's cousin who had an Indian Scout from every year of production, each one he had restored himself, and I asked him what they are worth, he replied "I don't know, I never sell, I only trade."

That kind of spirit is what I think AMCA is about, or I hope it's about. And that Knucklehead on Ebay, with the big price, doesn't fit the motivation I have for owning a vintage motorcycle.

I agree you Harry. I appreciate the scoot; but, I'd have to sell my home to buy something like that. This seller is also selling his entire knuck collection........

He has spent a huge amount of time and money trying to manipulate the market. Now he is looking for the payback. And pity the poor fools that bought into it.

This type hidden or private bidder history causes me great caution. Appears as if ghost bidders are setting the stage.

Yes and he posted the reserve of 160k on instagram so anyone could be bidding it up close to the 160k mark and chances are it’ll stay there

Surprised everyone "Doesn't" mention the sellers name? Long standing AMCA member, with the exception of a few ousts over the years, and founder of the Los Angeles Chapter of the AMCA & Hunting Harleys fame--Todd Bertrang.
As far as Todd singlehandedly manipulating the Vintage M/C market, i find that totally amazing! Why is there zero mentioning of Glenn Bator--Mecum--Bonhams or Snot-HE Buys*(Sotheby's) Auctions?
In my opinion, for what it's worth, i personally feel that Todd has spent a tremendous amount of time & resources, completing a visual & invaluable history, in regard to the Motorcycles he's collected and sold, and the circumstances of his expertise. Then, passed it on to anyone willing to share in his passion.
*PS: Besides, i can think of a few anonymous AMCA members asking and selling outrageous prices on eBaY, instead of using the AMCA member free ads.

JOJO,Todd told me this was not a police bike & he added some police parts & called it a police bike.Do you still want to buy a bike & story from him?He reminds me of a local used car salesman that sold a 4,500 mile sporty. When you pushed the button on the speedo,it had 27K.He was showing the trip odometer & had a good story to go with it.

Could it be because his long time girlfriend with deep pockets finally dumped him?

That's kinda strange duffey!? That 1940 M/C is super duper well documented, with a photo history and original title. Todd sometime swaps out some of the original worn pieces, but replaces them with period NOS/OEM. Looks like he crossed this path with some questionable inquiries prior, so he did this video.
