Here's the genuine H.D. one that as well as the generator gear also pulls off the half time pinion.
It's had a hard life and at some stage has had a 3/8 bolt put into it.
Originally it would have been 5/16.

The gear on the timing side mainshaft that drives the timing gear train which we, over here, have always called the "half time pinion".
It's what our tutors always called it so its just a thing that has stuck from all those years ago.
Its like the car/truck gearbox thing. Spigot shaft, first motion shaft, input shaft. 3 names for the same thing so I'm sorry if I confused things by calling it the Half Time Pinion but its just the way I was taught.Peter Thomson, a.k.a. Tommo
