  • Mystery Oil Pump Drive Gear

I have this oil pump drive gear that I need some help to ID.
It is similar to a JDH oil pump drive gear (relieved on the back side) but has too many teeth.
On the left is the gear for a 1928/29 Two Cam. It has 39 teeth.
On the right is the mystery gear. It has 43 teeth.
At first, I thought that it was for a single but the picture in the parts book for that gear (622-26) has 55 teeth by my count. The mystery gear is bushed like the single ones were. Was there another style of single gear?
    Thanks
    Mark Masa

        Cory,
Good guess! 43 tooth fits 26-28 magneto model singles, the generator gear is around 54 tooth, I currently have 1 from the late Don Berta,he was taking 54 tooth and remachining down to 43,this was the only part I did not have correct inside.

So you can see the differance, between a made gear and an original.
