Motorcycle Restoration Stand for 34 VL

I have a 1934 VL which I plan to restore. What type of stand can I build which will hold the frame for disassembly and assembly?

Use the rear stand on back and and axle stands on the footboard support rod on the front.

I have a hydraulic lift that I bought from JP cycles. About $250, as I recall. Lifts bike up to a comfortable height. You can strap/clamp the frame in place and it's quite secure. Locks in place at the top. I've seen better and more expensive units and some really slick hydraulic/pneumatic tables. But this gets the job done for a reasonable cost.

You have to remember that a VL has a single tube frame. Not double tubes like your EL and FL.

Here's what I use for my 45's....a combination of Chris' idea and the jack that sirhrmechanic is using. The rails go under the floorboard support rods. I made it and then realized that the cam chest hit the rail so that's why I have the cutout. It worked fine, but I plan to reinforce the cut-out
