  • Schebler DLX ID

Got this little carby and unfortunately someone has tinkered with the last digit.

Schebler DLX5..something. Only thing I've been able to find close to that is a DLX53 in a 1-1/4" carb. The stem casting has DL 57 on it and the bowl had DL 4 stamped on it. Only other carbs I found that start with a 5 are 1" carbs. Any thoughts?

I have a DLX55 that has a 7/8 venturi on my 1933 VC. I can't find it listed anywhere either. I do need a choke lever for it. It is just like yours.

      Mr. Big!

There are many unlisted numbers for Scheblers. When we cannot declare them a commercial motor or import model, we just call them "mystery" Scheblers.

Note however, that yours has Linkert needles and LS lift lever.

Thanks Cotten. I was thinking that might be the case. Close examination by a few people thought that it started out as a 9 then hit with an 8 and a 3. In any case it's a mess. bselph, if you need the lever I'd accept a small amount for it. That's if I can get the dang thing off.
