  • Odd 45 motor

I bought a 67 G trike, that sat around for years i have had it running . Head gaskets leaked Decided to pull the top end and check it out. It has k model pistons and the heads are not modified for popup. The rods have a strange part number ua 706 t 9. So i assume rods to be shorter. Anyone have any thoughts to what I'm dealing with?

The markings on the rods are standard 45 flatheat rods. So you might post a picture of the pistons and other parts that have been disassembled to see if anyone can spot something that stands out.

Why do you think the pistons are K type?

Pistons have -52 part number, I compared w to k piston , k is taller, I stopped by ,a local shop that does vintage engines , they were building a 45 with k pistons the heads cut for popup,

Late 45 pistons also have a -52 casting number (thin rings) so that in itself does not indicate K. Only the wristpin to top dimension matters.
