I have the bottom end of a 1929 DL motor and would like to assemble using the later and longer 1941-1973 45" cylinders and rods. I would be using all 1941-73 parts above the cases and realize I will have to fabricate the valve stem covers. Would the later 1937-73 upper end parts be a bolt on. Thanks!

I don't know for sure but, it seems to me that since the cases you have are from a total loss oiling system, that there may be some issues using a recirculating oil system top end and other parts. I would want to know for sure that everything is going to be oiled as it should before I started mixing parts. JHMO but hope it helps. Good Luck, Smitty

There is no oil feed to 45 top ends, old or new.Originally posted by HDSmitty View PostI don't know for sure but, it seems to me that since the cases you have are from a total loss oiling system, that there may be some issues using a recirculating oil system top end and other parts.
