  • Vtronic ignition module

I have installed a vtronic ignition in my 48 U model stroker.. this unit has 8 advance curves to choose from and one no curve. A unique feature is a separate kick start setting to start motor then after start up it switches to whatever advance curve is selected. The kick start mode is adjustable from 5 to 20 degrees retard. My question is what would be a starting point for degrees of retard?

    Mark,
I have no experience with that particular module.
However, calibration tables I write don't typically go beyond 5 degrees. With your stroked flat head, 5 degrees would be a place to start I guess.
Tuning is giving the motor what it asks for and wants. Trial and error until you find the proper calibration for a particular combination.
