Where did you get that torque spec, Idfly?

I was taught fifty-five for flatties: Lower compression and more headbolts

When it comes to gasketing re-torque on engines, I've done the following:

      1) Initial Torque sequence performed according to engine manufacturer and/or gasket manufacturer.

      2) Re-torque all the gasketing after all heat cycles and piston ring seating sessions are performed. This will fall within the first 10 miles.

      3) Re-torque all the gasketing after 100-150 miles.

      4) Re-torque all the gasketing after 500 miles. Typically you'll find all gasketing has fully compressed and nested by now. I'll usually check gasketing at 1,000 mile service and take note on torque retention.
