  • Help with 30 VL Exhaust Casting

I have an exhaust casting for my 1930 that is in need of repair. Im lucky to have a talented machinist friend who has agree to attempt to repair the casting I have.
I have a couple of questions that I need help with:

What is the length of an unmolested casting? (front to rear)
Is there supposed to be a lug on the front (back side) of the casting to tighten the casting down on the pipe? like the rear of the casting? (still in place )
Any guess on the type of cast iron used to make these? Understand that most types of cast iron can't be welded at all
Does anyone have a usable replacement for this that I could purchase from you? How about the clamp that attaches to it?

    Thanks

Thanks Tommo! Would you confirm the length at 4 7/8" overall? Hard to see exactly on photo.
Would you mind taking a measurement of the inside diameters where the pipes enter? Great piece !!!
      I won't ask

Dear Eddie, I have the top clamp part and the special slotted bolts. The other bolts are 069, sometimes found nos as they were used on the leg shields.
