  • Removing inner springs on 1941 WL with V Twin springer

I just put together a 1941 WL with 18'" wheels and a V Twin replica springer. I have two other bikes with oem Harley springers and they ride much better than this bike. The springer is very stiff and jars the handlebars bad on small bumps. I have no ride control and run front tire at 20lbs. I removed the upper inner springer spring s and it made very little difference. Have friction ride control ordered. Does anyone remove the lower inner springs or will this create a handling or safety problem. I believe these inner springs are stiffer than oem Harley springs. Thanks!

Are the lower inner springs full length? They should just be short buffers. If they are full length that is a spring set for a Servi-Car or big Twin with sidecar designed for much more weight.
