Newbie to Flatheads

Henry: You have a '39 what? EL, UL, WL? You can get the 6 volt battery from a Harley dealer. Part number is 66006-29F. They will probably have to order it because not many dealers would stock such a slow moving item. These batteries are made in
Viet Nam but seem to be a decent battery. I have bought several. Had one that lasted about six years. Just have to keep them charged.

ammorest thanks bud, i actually charged this one i have over night and it appears like its holding up the charge okay. so thats good.

now i am just on a quest on finding where i can find a rear tire because this one is all cracked up and dried up. any thoughts on where i can find a good price rear tire for the flathead either local or online?

I ended up ordering them from the Coker store on Amazon as the shipping was much less.

Thanks EricOlson if you don't mind can you shoot me the link of the specific tire you got from coker? mine is a 16" wheel.
the rear tire it has now is a good year speed grip tire 5 10 16 but it is very cracked from the side walls so before i start riding the bike around i should get that replaced to avoid a mishap

No problem Henry, I have 18" rims on my bike and run Firestone ANS tires. https://www.cokertire.com/tires/fire...cycle-ans.html. I don't have a lot of miles on them yet so it's hard to make a strong personal recommendation, but a good friend of mine has run them on his bike for a long time with many, many miles and he swears by them. I trust him and decided to follow suit. If you search around on this forum you'll find several threads related to tire selection.
