  • linkert carb question

I am working on a 1937 UL 80 inch cylinders my carb. is a Linkert M51. my first question is do i need to replace the venturi with the correct size for the 80 inch cylinders or will it run ok with the 1 1/16 M51 venturi . Question 2. my m51 carb is a 3 line carb what is the difference between a 3 line carb and a 4 line carb . thanks if you can help

The 1 1/6" will run fine of course, Idfly,..

If all other things are in order.

And may even give an advantage over the 1 1/8" if you are pulling a hack, at the expense of top end you may rarely use anyway.

At four bucks a gallon, you may want the economy advantage as well.

PS: The difference between the two bodies is basically their vintage.

        Yes, Idfly!

Floats and manifold reconditioning are the only services I can provide these days.

Please feel free to email me direct at liberty@npoint.net

        Looking forward to it,

The 1937 UL is a 74" engine, even though it has the 13 fin (casting numbers 120-37 & 371) cylinders they are only bored to 3-5/16".
