Took the oil pump apart, the adjusting screw was torqued in and difficult to get out. The photo shows a wear ring around the ball. Then there are the check valve springs that came out. Looks like someone just used whatever they had laying around.
Burnished the seats put in the new springs etc.

Problem:
The vane spring pockets have an ID of .148" but the spring has an OD of .154" so the springs don't fit.
I can use the old spring with the new vanes (that spring is .100" longer than the new one in the kit) or I can use the new spring with the old vanes which are worn .010" each.
Guess I could try to drill out the new pockets but that could be difficult and they are hardened I assume.
I'm thinking of using the old spring...any advise?

How do you adjust the adjusting bypass screw?
Thanks,
Mike
