WLC Letter S painted on the side of the dash?

Thanks Jerry much appreciate actually seeing one in color....I guess I'm off to buy some blue drab and make a correction in my first edition of Palmer's book..John and I have been going back and forth as we both have red S's on our 1943 WLC's..might as well get it right. Once again, the folks on the forum rock...many thanks

I once heard it may be the red was blue at one time and faded to red after time and environment took its toll on the pigmentation.
