I would like to converse with some one that owns a 1940 WLD 45 with the (narrow clutch, two bolt transmission assembly) OEM style primary cover assembly installed. I am having a problem, the shifter rod interferes with the inner upper primary panel at the transmission lever end. The back side of the hook end rubs hard against the panel making it difficult to "feel" a shift change.
Also, does any one know the purpose for the small access hole (trap door?) (mouse hole?) in that same inner upper primary panel?

You need an OEM or OEM style shifter lever that uses a clevis pin

Is there a part # and perhaps a source for the clevis pin type shift rod?

The first link is Colin. He's a great guy to deal with as well.
