Don’t mind me, I haven’t been reading the posts for a couple of weeks.

Regrettably my 42FL is a slow moving project. The pile gets slowly larger, and I keep trying to say I am retired, at least partially!! #157.

Well the truth is most of my 'barn finds' were not actually found in a barn but I have drug them out of basements, wood sheds, porches, granary's, garages, iron piles, fence lines and yes even a barn. Found at least one at a thrift sale, a few at auctions but the trick is to keep your eyes and ears open and pursue all leads diligently with bulldog tenacity.

Having readily available cash to buy one with helps a lot too. :-)

Chris I have seen pictures of your stuff. The only reason you do not have 100 G's of expendable cash in your hand is totally due to stubbornness or as I have heard some say - stupidity. I will admit that I have a lot of extra stuff but it pales in comparison to what I have seen in your possession. In fact, I one time heard you remark when someone asked if it was for sale 'that's my wife's job after I die'. I cannot think of a more inappropriate comment.

Do you actually think I just always have the cash available. In the last 2 weeks I have purchased a 1942 FL bobber, this 1939 WLD and an early 50's pan chopper in a knucklehead frame (haven't even told anybody about this yet). I made some decisions and moved out some stuff that I knew I would never get to, or had fallen out of favor or was more than I cared to tackle. It is not always easy but the world goes on.

I wish I had all the stuff people think i have. As for my wife selling anything, she passed away several years ago. So now i guess my sons will prosper with my passing. What comment would you think appropriate?
A friend recently told me that if I sold all my stuff that I may be rich. My response was that if I sold everything all I would have is cash. When that was gone I would have nothing. :-)
