    WLDD plugs

Need to get a little info on what type of plug to use. I am using H-D plug 5r6a, is this the correct heat range or do I need a different plug.

    Thanks

How does a long reach shovelhead 14mm resistor plug work in a Side Valve? The heat range is the same as a Pan/early shovel 3-4, but made for the 045 gap.

        Doh!
The 18mm plugs were offer in heat ranges #2,3, and 4. As stated, what you're using is equivalent to a 3-4, except for the large electronic ignition gap. As a rule though, hot rod motors use a cooler plug than normal. I think an N12YC is a Champion version of the long reach 5-6. Try an auto parts store, but avoid resistor type plugs.

So would you gap them at .025 or at .045?

            Try .028.

Sorry it has taken so long for me to reply. Plugs worked fine went with N12YC gapped at .028. Thanks for your help.
