  • 34-36 VL Tanks

    Hi,
Does anyone have cut-away views (construction photos or drawings) for the inside of a 34-36 VL tank (left and right)? I am trying to understand (primarily the left tank) their construction since I working on a 35 VLD project and recently picked up a set of tanks.
Thanks in advance for the help!

Dear William, I'll see what I can find so please contact me outside this forum as I'm unsure how to post pictures. The left tank has a double skinned wall with two witness holes to show leaks, and this double wall is pierced on a diagonal by the hand oil pump tube. There is some serious soldering in there.

These are pictures of a J Model tank but the construction is the same.

Is that whole inside "tinned" with solder?

Yes it is. Hot dipped in fact.

Thanks for the photos Mr. B. The 'J' model explains this slight difference I see peering in the oil cap hole - I'm seeing a wire screen over the oil feed fitting and the fuel discharge nipple is further back & angled in the tank I have.
