  • removing lifter blocks on UL...

want to remove lifter blocks on this 46 ul , someone brought up the idea of useing a slide hammer, I guess threading it into the lifter itself and slide hammering it out.Has anyone done this before? is it recommended? want to get the right tool but has been on back order for the last month. any other ideas would be appreciated.
    Thanks...

Be aware that using a slide hammer causes the tappet roller to slam into the cast housing, a situation with the potential to damage both pieces. Not a good plan! Where are you? If you want to pay shipping both ways I'll lend you the correct puller!

That was my thoughts also, but had to ask. I'm in phoenix, will look around a little more and if I cant find one I will let you know, appreciate the offer.

        You are probably right Robbie,

Even the right tool can be a problem in the wrong hands.
