  • The colors are mostly gone here in NE Illinois, but today was a nice day for a ride anyway. Fall is my favorite time of year to ride and today was a good reminder of that.

Agree! Particularly nice touch are the red dice on the valve stems!

        • Just a little ride to warm up the Chief and I found this nice tree along the Delaware River today. It's funny, some trees have NO leaves and some still have some green on them. But this one with the leaves bright RED stood out nicely.

            • While I was out on my '46 Indian today I saw this amazing tree full of color. OK, this is probably the last photo of fall foliage for me this year... Unless I see something prettier. It's getting a bit nippier out there, so I'm not sure how many more rides I'll do. Sure, I know this is in a neighborhood and not very "scenic", but I couldn't resist stopping and taking a picture of this. Looking closer now, I'm not sure if it is one or two different trees. I see green, red, orange and yellow! But it's very cool nevertheless. Today it warmed up to 54F so I rode the Indian for a nice 32 mile 1.5 hour ride and just happened to ride past this house by pure chance.

              • ...leaves changing here, not peak colors yet (kind of late?) but I had such a beautiful ride today on a forest service road I had to take a couple shots:

Hoping others get out there and ride, take a picture or three, and post it up! It's the best time of year to ride IMHO...cooler air and my Chief loves it! (...oh, and check out the new rims, 1946 NOS from bberness...thanks again, Ben!)

                • Awesome pics harry. Great to see you got those wheels installed and are rolling in beautiful early fall. Big aesthetic improvement for sure! Thinking a couple more weeks at least around here, probably 3 before we see peak. We have a chapter ride in the mountains in 2 weeks so we'll see.

                              • The following is from our Fall Chapter ride on 10/12/24. 25 bikes. Beautiful day in the mid 50s in the PA Laurel Mountains about 50mi SE of Pittsburgh. Leaves aren't quite as nice as other years but found a few areas of decent color/scenery. Not the best pic composition here. Evident by those familiar that wife was not on back this day with camera so I was left to my own fumbling shooting one handed while piloting a foot-clutch tank-shifter and trying to manage a questionable margin of safety.
