  • This one has stumped me

Just received this copy of a postcard. It is from Killmore, W. Virginia. It is pretty cool but the man with the motorcycle moved. Can't quite make out the make or model. I grew up in the city that made the Kissel Kar. Man who had the postcard thinks it is 1917-18. Once! Any guesses? To me looks like a single and chain drive.

Those V shaped handlebars make me think of Thor, but that's the only distinctive feature I can see. I do notice that the rider's(?) feet are in focus, but the rest of him, and the motorcycle are quite blurry. Makes you wonder if the bike is about to go solo

A bit disappointed no one has commented on this picture that, pem posted for us. I think the motorcycle is a belt drive, and a single motor. For me, it's the early 1900's scene that is so interesting, looking at the sidewalk 'Johnnys' the buggy on the right side background, and the (presumed) Kissel Kar in the foreground. Even the building structure is fascinating and you wonder if that building is still there in Killmore, W.V. I also wonder if anyone still alive in Killmore knows more about that place? Pictures like this are the most interesting to me.

After I cleaned the photo up a little, and enhanced it, it still is difficult to make the make! Those were age photo creases Eric, it made it appear to look like V shaped bars~my take any who. It is a really c()()L picture...Thanks PEM.

I was contacted by the fellow I got the photo from and he now thinks it was from 1907. I don't agree. Kissel Karr first produced cars in 1906 and I can't believe Kissel had a dealership in West Virginia by the next year. I'm not convinced it was taken in Killmore either. When I get more time I will do a deep dive into the particulars. Once!

...I can't find a Killmore, WV. Is it now gone, located elsewhere, or since a guy is standing in front of the sign blocking the full script maybe Killmore is not the location?
