What you're describing is specifically not to be a deduction. And for the reason you stated. File an appeal with the Chief Judge. Congratulations, anyway! Show it twice more and it's "Winners' Circle" just as it is, probably.

I was a little takin back by a 1.5 deduction on some blueing on the hi pipe. I ride the bike even though it's been restored and the judges need to hear it run so it's like jumping in a pool and someone telling you not to get your feet wet. That's what happens when you ride a motorcycle the pipes turn. I was happy with the first time out though.

Damn, that is friggin gorgeous. Know nothing about judging but it seems like sarge has the right idea.
These are the types of pics folks who are looking to restore a bike can use to get it more correct the first time out.
Thanks murph...Anyone else care to share?

I think the points for bluing are wrong too, mine is blued about just like your, and I have yet to lose a point for it. But it's not like you can fix it, and you have enough points for the winners circle, so it does not really matter. It was probably just judges digging for something wrong with that wonderful bike.
To the original poster, thanks for the pictures!!!

Paps!
When only one pipe blues, it ain't the carb!
We all agree that blue pipes shouldn't be a judging criteria, but we all know what happens when the judges can't find anything else.
