    Refer to your machine as a 45UL, that will cure the problem. I call mine a 45FL.

      I don't think that latest picture depicts anything concrete. That bike has big twin rockers and front wheel, so it is either pieced together or a "civilianized" WLC, neither scenario proves any original finishes! All the badges and trim were available over the counter from a dealer after the war, and all three colors are listed in the July '45 parts book so they were out there!

          Sidehacker, I experienced the same issue when refering to my 45FL as a '45 model. As VPH-D stated is the best way to advert confusion. The side trim on the takes you refered to as "chrome" are stainless and from all indicators, the trim was available for civilian and police models in '45.
