she was dug out of the Mississippi Mud after 20 or so years. She was robbed by the old man multi-dealer who had 21 other Indians, another stash of harleys and countless british, Italian and german machines, mopeds, bicycles going back to the 20's. My brother and finder friend Steve Jones pulled the 22 Indians out from tarps, from under trees, inside old sheds and brought them and piles of Indian bits back to California.

ANY BODY Else have one from Steve batch ...... dating 1974-75 on ?

          more on the Mighty39

Sifton~Star Hubs, all sealed bearings. Dual Brembo P-08 single calipers, 12" Sifton~Star rotors [ ALL Sifton~Star items are NLA ] . They were bought back in the mid 1970's.

Because the frame is 39 and the motor is a 48 Bonneville , I really could care less w/ having a 90-96 - 100% point restoration machine . I acquired this as mentioned above in 1974.

Rubone, like we used to instruct students in our m/c safety classes, don't grab the front brake lever, squeeze it. In this case a "little" squeeze will go a long way.

That works well when they panic doesn't it!
I've replaced plenty of over braked springers and girders. The fork usually quits bending after the wheel hits the engine...

I've been looking at and keep coming back to looking at this brake system for a good long time now but I'm just not seeing HOW it works! What keeps the caliper stationary?? I see the beefy looking block of aluminum in the picture of parts being made but am not seeing it on the finished front brake system (if it is!) . Can you please put up a different angle picture or whatever so that I can see how it works? I think I know how it should work but what I see does not add up. It looks like the caliper would just spin right around with the wheel until the whole thing just broke off (quickly) I feel like somewhat of a dummy for not seeing what may be obvious to some so PLEASE enlighten me!...(right here is when I tell myself that the only dumb question is the one that doesn't get asked). Thanks for your patience........Smitty Also...I would think that this is WAY too much brake for this fork setup if it does work....JMHO

Smitty, Go to the photos at the start of his post just below the one's "as found" and you will see the anchor arms from the calipers to the pieces he welded between the back leg down bars to attach them.
