    My question is there any difference from a panhead oil sending unit and ul flathead sending unit Thanks if you can help

    yes, there are different versions for different eras,but the main difference is length of the hex to the threads is longer on OHV.Palmers book shows many of these differences

      The threads are also different on newer units than early ones. Late are 1/8NPT, early are a straight thread. Don't mix them up. H-D made an adapter to use the late switch on early engines. And the 45 (WL/WLA/etc) are also the same as UL.

        The only aftermarket adapters I could find were straight thread to straight not straight to npt as I was hoping. I was able to run a tap down the female end and make it pipe thread. If memory serves I was running an earlier pump on a 60FLH.
