  • harley 1937 U transmission rebuilding

    Hi, please advice....
    I just finished rebuilding of 37 U transmission.
    I just seal main drive gear like this... IMG_8638.jpg

    so how many cc oil should be in?

    Shin!

    Please fill it to the bottom of the filler plug threads, level of course.

    I'll guess in the neighborhood of 630 cc.

    And please use the same oil as for the motor; Good luck!

        I use oil single 50 for the motor. same one for the transmission too? not thicker one ... like 80 or 90?

          50 or 60. The same as you use in the engine.

              Please note, Shin,

              Oil can only access the main drive gear bearings by seeping past thrust washers.

              A heavy lube would be restrictive.
