Thoughts on the best way to repair this cam case damage?

What would be the best process for the repair of this cam case boss? It's from a 1942 Indian Chief.

I think I would make a fixture or use left side case to mount cover in a mill and find hole center,then remove ,weld ,remount and machine new bore.I would probably be thinking of getting a distributor also instead.
