i was working on a pancake horn off the bike and i had a 6 volt battery for testing, after a while of horn testing the charged battery just died???

Yes. Other than an electric starter (which only applies to most 12V bikes), the horn takes the most current to operate on a motorcycle. It's basically a solid coil of wire from positive to negative volts to form an electromagnet. Once it pulls in one direction a set of points releases the hold of the electro magnet and it returns (under spring pressure) to it's normal position. At that point it re-energizes and this opening and closing of the circuit very quickly causes a high frequency sound that can be heard as a horn blaring.
Long story - short, yes, it will drain your battery rather quickly. Just re-charge it after your testing.
