I should have pointed that out. Part number matches civilian part.
1947 was an odd wiring,1st year new dash, last year for early coil & the odd position of the speedo light mounted in the dash cover, not the speedo.
Speedo had a hole inside for the light to shine in..[didn't work well]
Palmers book mentions the heat shrink on wire ends starting in '48.
This dash has heat shrink where it meets the Ign. switch. but not the other connections.
Here is pics of early '47 showing the speedo light & lack of heat shrink on those same wire ends. Dash light in Dash cover.JPG DSC_0350.JPG

Sorry for the late bump on this post. The dash was most likely made 1948-early 1950's. Diamond crimp type ring terminals (your #10 rings) were not used until 1948 as well as the vinylite insulation on the ignition terminals. HD continued to make dash base kits for 1930's-1940's model bikes well into the 1950's and would use the forked or open-barrel flag terminals on them. For a very long time it was believed the open barrel flags were 1946 and 1947 only. Not the case, they were used on early K-models and I've found them as late as my 1958 Servicar. I've got a WLA replacement dash from packaging dated in the mid 1950's with these terminals.
Here's an NOS replacement 1937 dash with the hangman's noose ends as well as an open barrel flag terminal shown (photo courtesy of Dan Patch). The traced wires also place this as somewhere in the mid 1940's to early 1950's. I found it interesting that HD still made the wiring with the looped and tinned ends when they could have used flags all over. My research shows traced wires prior to the end of WWII as being mostly limited to the dimmer wires, relay wires, battery positive, and brake switch to tail lamp.
