  • Exact vintage of this Edison-Splitdorf RM magneto?

    Lost my notes, Folks,...

Can anyone tell me the exact applications for this Edison-Splitdorf RM magneto?

Please note that it has hex fasteners on either side of the nameplate (post-War?).

Many thanks in advance as always,..

    I'm so confused, Folks,...

    The ebay tag is different..

And here is one I believe is perhaps earlier:

    (Thanks again to Eric Mathieu!)

I need to know because I know somebody needs it more than me.

Especially since I just had it serviced, and mags don't like to sit.

        You're probably right, Harry!

I had too many ebay pic 'snags' to pick from.

So I'm safe to call the one I posted "post-'44"?

My rebuilder says its serviceable, but could use a new rotor anyway.

Cotten, I only found that Ebay sale out of curiosity because that magneto looked familiar, so I put up the link to that sale because lo and behold it had the same type of RM 04051. The seller is listed as indiannut from Largo, FL and that is most likely Danny Weil, He lists it as 1940 to 1953. If it is Danny Weil then the information can be relied on, I think, because he's a long time Indian guy, smart, and knows his stuff.

          Of course, it is Ebay!

            I guess this one, Harry,...

            To be 1944 and later.

Did they really make magneto models after '48, Folks?

            Thanks again in advance,
