AD353589-4334-42C3-B6D9-1F8AE9C8E6B3.jpeg I thought I would share this little brake rivet tool I put together to do the brake lining rivets on my Knucklehead. I purchased the proper size rivet setter from Hanson Rivet. I took a cheap Chinese 3” c-clamp, removed the threaded clamping auger and drilled out the hole in the body of the clamp to a size that allowed the rivet setter to insert. I then took a small bit or round stock sized to match the rivet head size, cut that to a size that allowed for proper positioning of the lining and shoe under the rivet setter, and welded the small piece or found stock in place. I tried it out and it worked great. Total cost was zero since I had the clamp and round stock, but even if you had to buy the needed items, it should be under $10, and took about a half hour to make. It really pays to have a look at older posts as I missed this post somehow. I was just thinking about making a rivet setter for brake shoe linings. Holeshotbob's fixture looks perfect. Thanks for the pictures, and description.Eric Smith

They have the advantage of pushing the rivet & lining tight to the shoe before setting the rivets.

The only improvement I would suggest for HoleShotBob would be to make it a screw-press, and spare the hammer.
