Thought these two 'bikes' were worthy of posting. Did either of them survive?

This machine was built for a land speed record in 1937. Anyone else note that the caption says "Perhaps we'll hear more about it after the war." Yet WW2 was still some 2 years away for Europe and more than 4 years away for the USA. This seems to be sort of a precursor to the 'Road Dog' or the Boss Hoss. Note chain steering.

Ok... this is just bizarre. No idea whose single motor was used in 1936. Steering must have been fun.
