  • Need help identifying cylinder

    Can anyone help identify? Base holes are 7/16 dia. with a spread of 3 1/8 x 3 3/8. There is a piston froze up and sticking out the bottom, the top of the piston measures 3.23" Thanks Bob AMCA#6738

    Pierce ? I see a tee head and that is what I think.

              I agree with Gravely tractor - looked at some of that stuff real close and sure appears that Gravely and HD were swapping knowledge back in the day.

                That was fun! I didn't recall the Gravely until it was mentioned, and then recalled my first look at a Gravely. The "T" head would seem to be ideal for a flat-head with high-rpm camming, better draft. I wanted to "supe" that tractor up! ... good thing the truck was already full!

                    actually if you read the history of Gravely, it states that Horace Gravely applied for a patent in 1917 for a powered tractor, the engine used was a single cylinder Indian

                    my Gravely snow blower has really had to work this year with 50" since Christmas and more coming this week
