You didn't Erdos, but by posting it on the AMCA site it sort of implied that you were offering first call on parts to the many good members of the club.At least that's the way most took it to be. You were offering parts to people who have spent a lifetime looking for some of them and you got hopes up. Kind of like taking a friend out to dinner and never intending to eat

Found: Large stash of parts.

I have to agree with Erdos on this one. He annouced he had found the stash and that he was going to be at Jefferson to sell it. In hindsight, he might have been clearer on not wanting to sell piecemeal over the internet and some may have made assumptions as to his plans but dogging him about something he never said he would do is not right either.

Sounds like a lot of drama over nothing. The guy never said to send him your wish list. I’m just glad he stepped up to the plate & bought the pile & put the stuff back on the open market. And as far as trying to guilt somebody into preferential treatment because you’re supporting the military troops & can’t get to the meets. George I have to say; you have a steady job in these uncertain times, along with a steady paycheck. Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

You know how to get right to the bone.
If you own something you can control the selling until someone is willing to buy at your terms.
I've also heard enough crying about this.

Like I said Paps, in hindsight he might have been more clear about his plans as it appears some folks were anxiously awaiting to hear about what he had. I did meet him at Wauseon along with you this year and he seemed like a nice guy. I guess as this stuff gets harder and harder to find the frustration level might be rising a bit.....

I guess I felt the others frustrations, even though I had no interest in the stash. None of the parts fit my criteria or I too would have asked about them. If an answer to my request was.... be at the meet and I will have the part or parts, you seek, there with me, I may have made the meet. For certain...I would not have made the meet unless I had a clue though. Like you said though...all hindsight. We all have oversights. Except me...LOL

I am looking for any kind of special treatment from anyone. Take your smartass reply and stick it where the sun don't shine. I have been in places in the world supporting military missions that you have only seen on TV, or read about, for 30 years.......and I damn sure don't need any thanks.
I am not feeling sorry for myself.....BUT, even though PM messages to him about his stash of newly found parts was a mistake on my part. I would like to have at least had a reply, that is common courtesy.
I am done with this entire AMCA joke.George Greer

i took the announcement of this find as nothing more than additional info that might have gotten more people to come out to jefferson if they were on the fence about going in the first place and were able to get there. by doing this he was in fact doing a service to the the jefferson meet and to all amca membership by alerting us to his find and his intentions to sell at jefferson, he could have sold it to friends or through the local paper or even kept it all. not returning messages was probably due to being too busy sorting all those parts out and getting them ready for sale. i don't think any slight was intended for those that could not make the meet and maybe in the near future there will be opportunity to aquire some of these parts outside the meets.

I agree with Erdos, He made an announcement, and brought the parts, I drove 568 miles one way. no complaints
When, I go hame, I am done untill the next one, no internet sales here. next time try e-bay
As far as, Dave - I look forward to seeing him at the meets, There is NO whinning allowed at his swapmeet
spaces. Last summer at Wauseon- a guy picked up a part, and asked the price, Dave "answered 5 dollars"
the guy reacted in a very negative way, Dave said, " if you think that is too much, then just, take it"
that guy was sure embarassed on how he acted. I will never forget that one. It still makes me laugh
