  • Sidecar/Servicar jockey section

    Hi guys,
Although I can only imagine what it must take to put a web site together with all the changes and security measures these days we will still see a Sidecar/Servicar section?
    Thanks,Chuck

What is a jockey section? How to convert your bike from a tank shift, safety clutch to a jockey shift, suicide clutch section?

      Chris,

Noooooooo..........it refers to the person, rider of said mode of transportation be it a sidecar, servicar or both, what you are refering to has nothing to do with it although it is possiable that a Jockey in question could prefer a suicide clutch........

I thought sidecar passengers were called monkeys.

Technically it's the racing passangers are the ones that are refered to monkeys, due to their moving and climing around as the sidecar rig manuvers around the race course basicly they are human ballast leaning over the rear tire of the bike to help keep the rear wheel down and in contact with the road surface.

And then leaning out beyound the sidecar wheel and low to the ground sometimes inches from the pavement surface for the same reason to keep the sidecar down when entering the turn.

As far as I know, the driver is the one that is refered to as a Sidecarist, Sidecar Jockey,Hacker or Hack rider ;D

Now,I have never have heard of a Servicar rider called a Jockey before I figured I would just throw that in there even if both of their rear tires are in line ,Should you be interested There is some sidecar racing coming up in Southern Ontairo next month

Although it looks like fun,I always thought that the monkeys had a death wish

The "Sidecar and Three Wheelers" forum has now been added to the "Other Manufacturers" section.
