All my personal info is readily available in every magazine, the Club Rooster, and my background here on my forum registry, plus I try and include my info when I sign on. It don't get anymore transparent than that.
As for the glass, well, I'm looking at the bright side of things; hoping all the changes will do good during our growing pains here. Like the header of this topic, questionable #s.
Our Club policy is to judge a machine against how it left the factory. If the #s have been altered, that's not how it came from the factory. Just like the same-family-owned '36 Knuck that Chris Haynes detected a restamp on. It got DQed. It wasn't how it left the factory.

i learned the year stamps are different then the sequence stamps. Is that the case with all years? who knows if this is a restamp?

To answer the question.
The numbers on the 1940 HD at the beginning of this thread look perfect and appear to be exactly what would be expected for this year. The example of the 43 number that Chris posted is from a factory prototype twin engine setup and appears to have altered numbers. This topic is currently being discussed on another forum.

I am fully aware that non-members can view this forum and I don’t really understand why.If the reason is to recruit new members. Is this forum a good advertisement? It’s more likely anybody that was considering joining our club would have second thoughts after reading some of the recent posts.

I bought a new Superglide in 1975 from the dealer here in Florida, it had one set of numbers on the case with a line scratched thru it. The numbers that were matched to the title and frame were just stamped right below them.

I to also remember seeing a 73 XLH in the dealer showroom with a lined out VIN and a new VIN stamped underneath. 73 had to be one of the worst years for quality control. Cam

my information has been out there for the 12 years I have served on the board, that is why I beleive in alarm systems, guard dogs and Smith & Wesson.

Rob, I have absolutely no idea where you live, address, town, or state, but I did a white pages search on you and this is what turned up with seven seconds for searching "Rob Ronky". Is one of them you? Looks to be three Robert Ronky's, one 41 years old Robert Ronky III, another in his sixties, another in his eighties. I am guessing you, your dad, and grandfather? Just a hunch. It gives the guys age, street address, and town. And phone number if listed.

And for a fee....you can obtain the unlisted phone number, cell number, court records [all including criminal, civil, domestic, etc.], property values and taxes, property layout, on and on and on.

I figure you can live like a hermit and be frightened of everyone that passes by, or you can live like Dale Walksler and have everything you own on display for everyone to enjoy. What's the point of having stuff if you can't share the fun with other people. I kind of thought that's why we're all in a motorcycle club. Of course, you don't want to be stupid about it and you need to protect your property. Common sense goes a long way in cases like this.

The knucklehead that started this thread looks great to me, but I don't know if I would want to own a bike that can cause this much controversy. You'd have a WWE Smackdown every time you stopped for gas.
