Cast iron toy question

Wow Chris (and All),
the pic in the Tedd catalog is cruder than crude.
Those got to be a repop of a repop of a repop.
And the pic I posted ain't no "Flower Car" for sure.

Tedd wants $12 dealer and $25 retail for guaranteed crap.
That makes these ideal birthday and Christmas presents, compared to Walmart.

Yet pickers and pirates snivel at $5.

And now I'm glad california has flea markets every weekend. I guess that's how repops get "patina"!

The value of any piece of memorabilia is what it is worth to whomever likes it:
The last Hubley I scrounged, and let go of fifteen years ago for $300.
Today, its worth $300.

I have decided that these pieces that are SO undesireable, are very desirable to me, just because they seem to irritate those who cannot show me a pic of a duplicate.

I guess I shall bid on them after all, even though I have no use for toys. Now they mean something to me.

Wow, I really like that look!

Looks like a flat tire in front and he's trying to ride on it to the nearest dealer, and it's raining out too. That bike has a lot of miles under its belt. The rider looks hard core too. Perfect! That's a beauty!

Are you going to replace those tires? Remember what they say about original condition bikes.

PS: that almost looks like Otto Walker with his First World War German aviator's helmet. Did he ever race a single with a cylinder that big? I wonder....

Toys are meant to be played with. :-) These days mine just sit in the showcase. I spent thousands on toys back in the '80's and '90's. I can't afford to buy any today.

Just having some fun Chris; and, you're absolutely right about toys. When they were made, they were made for fun. I think the toys that survived were often kept because someone did treasure the joy they got from them.

Hubley made the most cast-iron toy motorcycles. Many of them were Harley and Indian. In lots of different sizes.
