Yes siree Steve. Not to mention, dry rotted tires and a non~running motor. In 3 'daze', we will know the final tally. I'll take a stab at it, and say...$46-53K Any other estimates out there? I almost titled the headings as...'Here's Your 'BIG' Chance'...Originally posted by Steve Slocombe View PostLooks like the Steve McQueen name is still worth money. The bike would take some big hits in AMCA judging.
*Keep in mind, McQueen's Heuer Monaco Watch recently sold for--->1.4 Million. Although the VL has many faults, for what it's worth, i don't think it will matter to the Big money guys who couldn't care less about the VL's shortcomings.

Thanks! I sold a bike once on BaT, it's nerve wracking, and then thrilling at the end. Look at the timing of the last dozen bidsAMCA #41287

Ya Joe, those last 7-8 minutes were brutal! I would bet Steve never even rode that VL, even before that hacked restoration. When McQueen found out there was not one dedicated American Motorcycle Museum in the USA, back in the late 1970s, Steve, Ekins and Pierce set out to establish one. Unfortunately it was never completed *R.i.P.. There was a stockpile of old iron waiting to be restored and worked on, which were never completed. Easyriders mag did an article of Steve's effort. I have a picture of the cinder block fortress warehouse with a giant slew of Motorcycles sitting in storage. What a shame McQueen passed before it was completed. It was a shame no one picked up with his dream and completed the Museum per last wishes.
