Looks like the Steve McQueen name is still worth money. The bike would take some big hits in AMCA judging.

Yes siree Steve. Not to mention, dry rotted tires and a non~running motor. In 3 'daze', we will know the final tally. I'll take a stab at it, and say...$46-53K Any other estimates out there? I almost titled the headings as...'Here's Your 'BIG' Chance'...

*Keep in mind, McQueen's Heuer Monaco Watch recently sold for--->1.4 Million. Although the VL has many faults, for what it's worth, i don't think it will matter to the Big money guys who couldn't care less about the VL's shortcomings.

Judging by the current bid, and how much it'll go up in the last few hours, I say $70-75k

        1971 Sprint SS350 project
        1972 FX Boattail Night Train
        1972 Sportster project
        1973 HD Golf Cart project
1979 FXS 1200 never done playing
        1989 Springer Softail project
        1998 Dyna Convertible - 100% Original
96" Evo Softail self built chopper
        2020 Heritage Classic 114
plus 15 other bikes over the years...

The bid reserve at Mecum 2013 did not sell at $75,000. But, who knows?

Non-running with incorrect headlamp, seat, carburetor, generator, relay, muffler, early 1930 right tank and Eastern European repro dash panel I would see this at about $12-15k in Mecum without the authentication certificate. Nice license plate though, if original.
