be careful of Gelomans cycle

Bobs comment does make sense, this was not why I joined and did not know I could even right about a vender until I read of a warning about scammers. Bob I am building a WWI Harley with a 1915 engine and 1917 transmission and have been gathering parts most from Competition Distributing and eBay and have been looking at the classified adds. and have been able to find most of the parts needed. I understand that I am a new member, but I should not be subjected to my honest money being on hold for half a year and now more with a vender and myself getting into arguments about my order. I am just as much to blame as Christian and will be more careful next time.

Lee, I hope things work out between Curtis and Christian. I have no dog in the fight, what bothered me is it seemed Curtis only joined the AMCA to voice his problem with a warning which I believe was his first post. You say 'when an AMCA member seeks help or advise', well that's fine. Maybe Curtis's first post could have been 'Has anyone dealt with so and so, instead of be careful of so and so. As you said, we are all entitled to our opinions.Originally posted by JoJo357 View PostMaybe some of our fine AMCA members that post dissenting comments shouldn’t stop and go right down the line on the Forum and have a field day, when an AMCA member seeks help or advise in regard to…Should I polarize my Generator, does this part fit what, is this the correct period color, where do I stay in Wauseon, et cetera. I got an email from Christian, stating he will honor my order and will send my parts when he gets them, I did ask for a time frame and do not want to drag this on for another 5-6 months. He did say he would not return my money and thought I misinterpreted my side and this and did not appreciate me putting this on this AMCA feed, but I would say this has helped. He also said he is tired of me messaging him to find out what happened to my parts and money, I agree I am tired of this myself. I also offered to pay shipping when he gets the parts. I am not sure if this is positive movement or not. When I get the parts, I will state this, and hopefully this will be sooner than later. I really wish this deal would have turned out better, but I do know that my side is unhappy.

...maybe because the first guy bailed out on the frame and it's too late to cancel the build from his supplier? Who knows and who really cares!Originally posted by JoJo357 View Postwhy does he continue to currently advertise the same frame and the same Item Description From The Seller Attention Guarantee listed at the bottom of the ad???

Maybe I'm missing something here, but i find this pretty strange. Please look at the current EbAy listing below. If Geloman Spares couldn't meet Curtis's obligation, because of an unfortunate motorcycle mishap, then why does he continue to currently advertise the same frame and the same Item Description From The Seller Attention Guarantee listed at the bottom of the ad??? **You'd figure Geloman would retract his eBaY listing!!!
Pardon Our Interruption... <-----1915-1917 Frame listed on eBaY. *Geloman Spares.

I had received an email form Michael Love a few days ago acing as a mediator, and he said he contacted Christian also; I will not say what Michael said to me out of respect for him and this club, and do not know what was said to Christian. I tried reaching out to Christian a few days ago but have gotten no replay. I do hope that members understand that I do not want this to happen to anyone else! All I really know is that after 5 months I have not seen one part from an order I was promised and 5000 euros is a lot of money and fell that this money is gone. Everyone will make their own determination on what happened during this parts deal. I will keep all of you informed if anything else transpires but this still has no positive movement. I have managed to find some parts needed for my build from others I have most of the big parts. JoJos statement "A simple solution…Both parties Eat crow with apologies and accusation's, deliver or pay up, cut your losses, and everyone chalks it up to experience and…Moves On!!!" Is how I feel.Last edited by WWI Harley; 05-01-2026, 05:27 AM.

I take that to mean that the seller will not provide a service or any parts for the buyer. Although it could be interpreted that way, It wasn't stated expicitly that the buyer's money would not be returned. In this circumstance, with the public airing of all this dirty laundry, I doubt the seller would try to keep the money without providing any service. That would be theft, pure and simple.

Insightful advise Clark & Steve.
It's obvious Curtis recent joining of the AMCA was two fold. One, to share his build, and then to warn members of a discrepancy, and seek advise. It is unfortunate with childlike bantering, and that's just what it is. But, i'd rather be called a...'Member of the National Socialist German Workers Party, then to be out 5 thousand dollars!!!

I think it's reasonable to side with the injured party, the loser of 5k with nothing to show for itOriginally posted by chuckthebeatertruck View PostThere are no sides to take.
The business portion of this "fight" could have been resolved long ago.
It has gone "pear shaped" because the buyer and seller are choosing to grind down each other's reputation in public to prove a point.
Neither seems to realize they are just hurting each other and getting further and further from resolving their dispute.
