email from amca customer service about partnering with Hello by grouper.
I am just curious if the club paid them to provide service and benefits to interested members,or if the club gets paid for providing members info.

This latest blast email about Grouper is not the first. The first one promised every AMCA member would receive $50.00 for joining Grouper. That failed for some unknown reason. Now this second pitch. Although the owner of Grouper may indicate your personal information or joining information will not be used or sold to third parties, that's no guarantee they won't. I always ask when I see one of these pitches: How does a site like Grouper make money? If you download the Grouper app, you are giving Grouper the right to access your personal online information. I always use a very simple rule when deciding whether to join a website: When in doubt, don't join. This Grouper site seems to encourage AMCA members to eat well and exercise. One doesn't need to join Grouper to do that.

Thanks for repy.It appears they make their money by providing or connecting services for free and then billing government partners.

Tom, I don’t think here is government money being paid to Grouper for telling its members to eat well and exercise. Maybe insurance companies may be paying Grouper but that may require Grouper to provide member contact information to the insurance companies.

I think the email came from AMCA, not grouper.

Just checked Grouper privacy policy. This really says it all. Not sure why anyone would agree to share all this information with this company.
