The Gadfly always wants to pounce on the judging topic but it really is important if you want to try and make your restoration as close to the day it was built as possible. Nobody is perfect but this is the best we have going rather than reading one persons opinion from a book.

A slightly larger magazine and back to 4 times a year is just fine to save the club a sizeable amount of postage and print money. It worked before and will now. The quality of the magazine is better than ever, and I have been around for awhile #7558. Good decision, raising the membership fee is never good!!

      Judging should be important, Knuck!

If it made any sense, it would be the crown jewel of the club.

But everybody knows its done more harm than good.

Just one reason there's so little documentation in the mag.

I don't necessarily disagree about a return to 4 issues (if in the best interest of the club), but I do think our current membership fees are more than reasonable if not a bargain for all that a member can get (@ current $50 and a possible $10 increase is not unreasonable). It was $12 when I joined in the mid '70s and I would pay cash to Wanda Winger in person at the Florida meets. I don't care about judging, although I may put my 1919 Henderson in judging this year. I do think it is an expensive adder for the vast majority of members who don't participate but regardless of contrary opinions (which I'm deaf too) I think judging has been a valuable and pragmatic tool for bringing dead bikes back to life, not to mention the great number of cottage industry creators, and sellers of accurate reproduction parts. Everything else in the AMCA is done by people who actually DO the work to keep all of this going and I am very grateful for that because myself and almost everyone else is not raising their hands to jump in there to do what they do.

Been a long time for me in the club. but I would happily give 1,0000 or even 10,000 Dollars to the club to keep it going. This is how much I love this club. And all of you.
Thanks Eric.Iove you too. What I'm gonna buy another bike?. I still have the '48 almost a survivor. I aint' gonna live that much t longer. Whatever.
          James.

I know what you mean about mortality, James; life is actually finite and that comes down to what is precious to 'ME', you, and all the rest of us. That sounds very selfish, but my priorities (for this hobby) are what I own, what I want, and the AMCA. The AMCA has made all of this possible for me, and introduced me to the brilliant people that facilitated that process for me. No one knows what they're going to get interested about in life (other than sex) but us motorcycle lovers have found the greatest passion you could ask for. . . So, I'll pay an extra $10 for all this.

                A 'poll', Knuck, really?

                Isn't lack of participation enough?

The system mandated the mass destruction of nearly anything original paint. or original plating if minimally blemished for decades. And none of that can be retrieved, and none of it gave vintage motorcycling anything but hollow trophies.

Where was the legacy preserved? It wasn't.

I renewed recently and today received my membership card in the mail. The accompanying letter noted the membership benefit of 6 magazines per year. Maybe someone needs to tell Club Express about this change.
