Only time will tell in years ahead
Another historical parallel is how George Hendee resigned from Indian in 1916 and liquidated his holdings in the company he created as the American motorcycle industry began its agonizing contraction to near extinction. Now Polaris has done the same thing.

That said, Polaris did a world of good for the Indian brand name. Created a viable corporate entity with outstanding bikes with sound engineering. This new Carolwood-Indian incarnation now faces a do-or-die situation to survive in another motorcycle industry contraction environment. What strategy are they dreaming up? It better be good. Indian sales are down like 30% since 2021. Their only hope seems to be increased market share. That means taking on Harley-Davidson head-to-head.
